First Financial Holdings Inc. of Charleston announced Friday that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 25 cents per share.

First Financial is the holding company of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Charleston. The association operates 53 offices in the Charleston area and the counties of Horry, Georgetown, Florence and Beaufort.

Of the processed returns, 1,217,134 were filed electronically and 1,193,446 received a refund, according to the revenue department. The average refund is $683, the agency said.

The complex, off 10th Avenue North Extension in Myrtle Beach, is a partnership between former Major Leaguer Cal Ripken Jr. and Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc.
